ITINERARY BY DAY
DAY 1: ARRIVAL LUANG PRABANG
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Luang Prabang. A warm welcome by a local guide and transfer to the hotel in Luang Prabang, the pearl of Asia. Dinner on your own. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 2: LUANG PRABANG (B/L/-)
Breakfast at hotel. 08:00 Your guide and driver will pick you up at the hotel’s lobby for a full day tour.
Visit the former Royal palace which has been turned into a National museum. This interesting structure displays a lovely collection of the artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture dating back to the days of the early kings right through the last sovereign. You also have enough time today to explore some other landmarks, including the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun, the shrine of Wat Aham, the city’s oldest temple of Wat Sene and Wat Mai with five tiered roofs. A visit to Luang Prabang would be not complete without climbing the 329 steps to the top of Phousi Hill for a beautiful sunset view of the Mekong River. The zigzag path crosses over various temples to the sacred, gilded stupa of Wat Phou, another World Heritage Site, recognized by UNESCO in 2002 is at the summit. Lunch in a local restaurant. Dinner is on your own. Overnight at hotel in Luang Prabang.
DAY 3: LUANG PRABANG – PAK OU – KUANGSI – LUANG PRABANG (B/L/-)
Breakfast at hotel. 08:00 Embark on a boat to go up along the majestic Mekong river, which offers a magnificent view of the Lao campaigns to reach the cave mystique of Pak Ou. This cave contains thousands of Buddha statues of shapes and sizes varied, covered with gold. In return, you will stop in the village of Ban Xanghai where villagers distill a traditional rice liquor. Lunch on the way back.
In the afternoon, roll up the Kuangsi waterfall to visit a centre for care bears, you will enjoy the waterfalls and pools of clear and refreshing water. Dinner is on your own. Overnight at hotel in Luang Prabang.
DAY 4: LUANG PRABANG – DEPARTURE (B/-)
After breakfast, relax before you transfer to the airport, or enjoy our optional program.
