TOUR MAP

ITINERARY BY DAY

DAY 1 – PHNOM PENH – KAMPOT

Begin the Blend of South tour with a morning transfer from Phnom Penh to the riverside town of Kampot (transfer 3hrs). This charming town is still dominated by French colonial architecture and the countryside in this province is particularly scenic. Explore the laid-back town on a walking tour and absorb the pleasant atmosphere.

Kampot is located close to the sea, and late afternoon is the time when the local fishermen head out to sea. Take a boat for a scenic sunset cruise (1.5h) that will ride along riverside fishing villages, pagodas, and mangrove forests, where fishing boats get ready for their daily catch.

In the evening, stroll through town and choose one of the many local restaurants or grab a drink at one of the charming riverside bars. Choose a venue and enjoy some fresh local food (at own expense) before returning to the hotel.

Overnight in Kampot.

DAY 2 – KAMPOT TOUR

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, drive to Bokor National Park, an abandoned French hill station. While modern development is taking away from some of the historic parts of the park, fine views can be seen over the ocean and towards Vietnam. The park comprises 1581km² of protected land, most of which is primary forest, particularly rich in endemic flora and home to globally endangered fauna such as the tiger, chestnut-headed partridge, and green peafowl. Accompanied by unceasing insect and bird calls, continue on to Popokvil Waterfalls. Enjoy a picnic lunch on arrival.

An early afternoon transfer will be provided back to Kampot; try a simple but effective ‘seeing hands’ massage at the hands of a talented blind masseur.

The rest of the afternoon and evening is at leisure in Kampot.

Overnight in Kampot.

Trekking distance: 7km

DAY 3 – KAMPOT – KEP

Make an early start this morning (optional- at no additional cost) for the 10 min walk from the hotel to the local fish market (arrive around 6AM.) Boats that were seen the day before would have just docked and the fish and seafood is sorted and quickly sold off to middlemen to take to the markets. The market is rarely visited by tourists as the day slowly becomes light.

After breakfast, discover beautiful Kampot Province on the drive to Kep. En route, visit a pepper farm. Kampot is known for its premium quality pepper that used to be essential for French chefs in the 1960s. There is also a visit to a cave decorated with a Buddhist statues offering great views over the province.

Arrive in Kep around lunchtime. Cambodia’s prestigious beach resort of the 1960s is now awakening to its former glory. A fascinating mix of a small, calm beaches and a beautiful National Park on its doorstep makes Kep and interesting and relaxing place to visit.

Check into the resort and enjoy the afternoon at leisure to discover Kep. Don’t miss out on the popular crab market for some crabs with Kampot Pepper!

Overnight in Kep.

DAY 4 – KEP TOUR

This morning, embark on a short boat trip (25 mins) to the pretty island Koh Tonsai, also known as Rabbit Island. Spend the morning at leisure exploring the island and relaxing on the island’s beautiful tropical beach. A seafood barbecue lunch will be prepared on the island. Mid-afternoon, return to Kep and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Enjoy the afternoon free at leisure.

Overnight in Kep.

DAY 5 – KEP – DEPARTURE

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy some time at leisure until the provided transfer back to Phnom Penh (3hrs) or onto the next destination.
