ITINERARY BY DAY
My Son Sanctuary and Hoi An Full Day
After hotel pickup by your guide and driver, your day tour starts with the drive to My Son, a UNESCO World Heritage site. As you draw closer to My Son, which translates as ‘Beautiful Mountain,’ the condition of the road becomes more adventurous, with the last few kilometers often rutted and potholed. Upon arrival in the area, take a 0.3-mile (500-meter) walk through the lush landscape of trees and brush before emerging into the main site.
There were once more than 70 Cham monuments at My Son, dating from the 7th to 13th centuries. Set against the backdrop of the appropriately named Cat’s Tooth Mountain, they would have been an awesome sight; until 1968 they remained, remarkably, in almost perfect condition, having been sheltered from the worst excesses of weather by the surrounding hills. Your guide provides commentary about the Cham history of My Son while you wander at your leisure around this historic site.
After leaving the sanctuary, have lunch before arriving in Hoi An, a trading town whose civilization was cut off by destroyed rail lines and a silted river, leaving it untouched by war and frozen in time. On your afternoon walking tour, see architecture reminiscent of traders from a bygone era—Japanese, French, Chinese, and Indian—as well as preserved ancient houses. No cars are allowed to pass through Hoi An Ancient Town, rendering it perfect for exploring on foot. Visit the 420-year-old Japanese covered bridge and a Chinese communal house; shop for art at one of the numerous galleries; and enjoy the riverside ambience. You will also see how local residents raise silkworms and produce silk for Hoi An’s burgeoning textile industry.
Option: the afternoon activities can be replaced by a river cruise to traditional villages.
Commence the drive back to Hoi An to start our boat trip on Thu Bon river. Departing from Nguyen Hoang dock, your boat journey of approximately two hours will take you past Duy Hai fishing village, Tra Nhieu – weaving village, Kim Bong carpentry village and Cam Thanh coconut jungle village.
The boat trip will finish at Nguyen Hoang dock in the old town. You will be free to explore the old town or return to your hotel by your own means.
After your walking tour, you’ll be transferred you back to your hotel.

My family (4 in total) will be in Danang in mid-October and would like to see My Son / Hoi An for the day. What is your price. What is the itinerary and the mode of transportation?
