Best morning of our Vietnam trip

My partner and I booked a Good Morning Saigon tour and believe this was one of the highlights of our trip to beautiful Vietnam.

We were picked up from our hotel at 6:30am by the delightfully funny Joseph and lovely Anna Phoung (I hope I‘ve spelled it right) and we hopped on the back of their bikes – helmets were provided.

I’m not a motorbike rider, and I’ll be totally honest I was petrified of what lay ahead having spent the last 3 weeks dealing with the chaotic Vietnamese traffic, but after only 5 minutes I knew I was in the best of hands and felt so completely safe. I even relaxed so much that I started taking photos of everything while we traveled around the main roads, highways, bridges and amazing back streets of Saigon. (We never went over 40kph due to the heavy traffic so that helped me too.)

We left our route up to the drivers and were extremely happy with what we crammed into the morning. We stopped whenever needed and came home with some pretty awesome photos. We stopped and had Vietnamese coffee with the locals and then later on had some delicious Pho Bo with a friend of Joseph.

We traveled through many districts and saw popular tourist sites as well as amazing tiny back street markets no wider than a metre. Our conversations with our guides were both informative and so much fun we were in stitches with laughter most of the time.

Delivered safely back to our hotel at 10:30am. We highly recommend you book a tour too, you won’t regret it. Great value for money – thank you so much Joseph and his drivers

Getting to experience Saigon from a new site

I’m really glad that I signed up for this tour. Seeing Saigon from the back of a scooter is a very unique experience and my tour guide Trang was really nice and fun. She also showed me some none touristic places that I would never have seen otherwise!

Perfect intro to this overwhelming town

I spent my first morning here on the back of Huey’s bike and it was simply fabulous. Huey was fun and friendly, and he made me feel like a friend right from the start. He took me places I wouldn’t have known how to get to, told me good stories of the changes Vietnam has seen in the past many years, fed me a delicious lunch and let me stop whenever I wanted to take a photo. He even helped me find sunscreen because I stupidly didn’t have any on (I’m paying for that now!) I’d highly recommend Detoured Asia if you enjoy getting off the beaten track a bit. You’ll experience Ho Chi Minh City in a totally unique way!

Great Way To Experience Being a Local

Picked up at 6:30am, helmets fitted then on the back of motorbikes straight into the chaotic traffic of Saigon and the next 4 hours was some of the best time we spent in Vietnam. We saw some of the popular sights then disappeared into the backstreets of the city with our guides sharing coffee with locals, visiting local houses, down streets 1m wide, on 6 lane highways, over bridges, under tunnels and lunch in a market Guides were informative and funny Would recommend to anyone with a sense of adventure and fun

Amazing! Best way to see the city in short time!

This tour was fantastic. My wife and I had a great time on this trip. Two motor bikes picked us up at the hotel and took us all throughout the city. We got to see all sorts of things we wouldn’t normally have had a chance to see, especially since we were only staying in HCMC for a few days. Our guides were super friendly and welcoming, we even stopped by one of our guides’ houses and his wife prepared us two cups of iced coffee, because it was so hot out! After the main tour we also stopped a local place for lunch and had Pho. It was great! I would highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting the city.
